Tū i te Ora Scholarships Extended

Applications for Northland Regional Council’s Tū i te Ora Scholarships have been extended through to Sunday 10 March. Council is awarding 6 scholarships worth $4,000 to assist with study, research or training that relates to NRC’s environmental functions, including KMR’s kaupapa. The Scholarships also provides paid full-time work experience with NRC from mid-November 2024 to mid-February 2025.  This summer, KMR welcomed our first summer intern and we are keen to welcome more next summer!

Tū i te Ora Scholarships aim to:

  • Build Māori capacity in Te Taitokerau and help students pursue further education
  • Encourage greater uptake of tertiary education aimed at environmental protection
  • Develop connections between tertiary students and council
  • Provide support to students experiencing financial hardship and difficulties
  • Encourage mātauranga Māori research and education.

Applicants must live in Northland or whakapapa to Te Taitokerau. They must also be enrolled, or intending to enrol, in a relevant undergraduate or higher-level course.
