While year-end figures are still to come, KMR continues to deliver strongly on our vision to protect and restore the mauri of the Kaipara Moana and demonstrate progress towards our outcomes.  To date, KMR has invested in contracts worth over $9.3M in project value (May 2023 data), supporting a variety of nature-based employment in our communities across the  catchment.

I’d especially like to acknowledge the KMR team for our winter planting achievements this year – the second winter of KMR operations.  As at mid-June, we have confirmed contracts with landowners to plant nearly 625,000 stems this winter.  While some of these projects will be no doubt be delayed (for example, by weather), it’s an outstanding result on our journey to plant 20 million trees in the catchment.
